WEEK 2!
FINALLY!!! Something I have wanted to do for years!!! The MUSICFEST in Steamboat Springs!
For 9 longggg years I have sat idly by & watched my friends enjoy themselves at a 4 day music festival featuring Texas Country artists in the beautiful snow capped mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. On the tenth anniversary, I joined the debauchery! And may I say, it was true debauchery at it’s finest…
The geniuses that we are decided to head up TWO whole days early & stay one day late which meant we had EIGHT solid days of drinking on our hands. Challenge accepted. My time in Steamboat rivaled my college days & if there is one thing I learned in the mountains it is that I do not have the young resilient liver that I once did…
WEEK NUMERO UNO:
What better way to start off the week than with a bang? I figured the best way to celebrate the new year would be to travel to the coldest possible spot that I could find & enjoy a little outdoor music…
On January 4th I did something I have never done. I set out to visit Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Temperature upon arrival? -30 degrees. Or so they told us. I didn’t wait around long enough outside to actually take the temperature. The only things that I cared about were the frozen boogers in my nose & the fact that I thought I would be “cute” and wear a sweater dress with nothing underneath it on the incoming flight. Upon arrival I promptly lost all feeling in my legs.
Aside from the absolutely freezing cold temps, it was actually a really beautiful place! Word to the wise though, the locals really don’t appreciate talking about the cold. Apparently it’s cold there most of the year & it is nothing new for them. Also, don’t ask if the ice on the ground is black ice. It’s just ice, with black pavement underneath it.
First up? Start a blog. Woo hoo! Week one is done.
Just kidding.
Lucky for you, this happens to be a very busy week & I will actually be attempting to complete many firsts in the next few days… More details on my upcoming adventures to come!
